Welcome to the Department of Anthropology at the Jagannath University. The main mission of the department is to develop skilled human resources capable of meeting the challenges of the real world. The department aspires to provide world-class education in line with the demands of the job market and the needs of the community. The faculty members of the department are actively engaged in research and teaching. They are experts in diversified issues such as ethnicity, migration and diaspora studies, ecology, gender, social inequality, and development.

The department offers PhD, MPhil, MSS, and BSS programs in Anthropology. Our undergraduate and graduate courses allow students to gain knowledge and training about diverse issues related to the subfields of Anthropology. Our students receive training in core areas of Anthropology with a specific focus on research methods, and theory. Our graduates successfully pursue careers in the government, nonprofit, and private sectors.
