A brief Introduction:

Razina Sultana comes of an aristocratic family of Dhaka district, being born in Urdu Road, Dhaka. She passed her SSC exam from Ahmed Bawani Academy, Armanitola, Dhaka in 1981 standing 2nd in Humanities Group. She secured the 5th position from the same group in her HSC exam in 1983 from Begum Badrunnesa Govt. Girls' College, Dhaka. She obtained her Bachelor degree (Honours) in Social Welfare with Second Class (2nd position) and Master of Social Science taking a First class (2nd position) from the University of Dhaka. She did her MPhil on 'Employment of Women and their Empowerment: An Analytical Study of Dhaka District' from the Institute of Bangladesh Studies (IBS), University of Rajshahi and PhD on 'Child Caring and Career Limitations among the Working Mothers in Dhaka City' from the same University.

Razina Sultana joined the Department of Social Work at Jagannath University as an Associate professor on 1 January 2012. Before joining this university she worked in Education cadre of Bangladesh Civil Service. She also worked as a Programme Officer (Research and Information) for Rangpur Dinajpur Rural Service (RDRS), formerly an international NGO for one year. She worked as an Additional Director of Institutional Quality Assurance cell (IQAC), Jagannath University from1 January 2015 to 31  December 2022. Dr. Razina is a National QA expert and has been working as a Local QA Expert at different public and private universities of Bangladesh since 2017.

Razina Sultana was the chairman of the Department of Social Work from 14 February 2021 to 13 February 2024.   

The areas of her research interests are gender, education, youth, juvenile delinquency and social development. Apart from reading, she likes listening to songs and travelling.
