A brief introduction :
Associate Professor Dey is from Sylhet district in Bangladesh. She passed Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations with First Division (Star Marks) under Comilla Board in 1999 from Moinunnessa Girls’ High School, Sylhet and First Division (merit position) under Sylhet Board in 2001 from Sylhet Govt. Women’s College, Sylhet, respectively. Dey obtained the degree of Bachelor of Social Science (Honors) in Social Welfare with Second Class and Master of Social Science in Social Welfare with first class from the Institute of Social Welfare & Research, University of Dhaka in 2005 (exam. held in 2006) and 2006 (exam. held in 2008) respectively. She completed the Post-graduate Diploma in Disaster Management (PGDDM) from the Institute of Social Welfare & Research, University of Dhaka in 2010. She obtained M.Phil degree from the Institute of Social Welfare & Research, University of Dhaka for the thesis entitled “Treatment of Juvenile Delinquents in Bangladesh: A Study on the Efficacy of the Non-Institutional Services ”in 2015. At present, she is doing PhD at Western Sydney University, Australia. She started her professional career as Lecturer in Social Welfare, Bangladesh Open University in 2010. She joined as Lecturer at the Department of Social Work, Jagannath University, Dhaka in 2012. Dey was promoted as Assistant Professor in 2012 and then Associate Professor in 2020. Dey has published a substantial number of peer-reviewed articles in renowned national and international journals. Dey has presented a number of papers both in national and international conferences. She also organized, and attended a number of national and international conferences, seminars and workshops. Associate Professor Dey has teaching experences at Western Sydney University at undergraduate and postgraduate lavels. Her areas of research intersts include gender issues, women empowerment, child rights protection, and young people, youth offending and justice system.
