Dr. Tapan Kumar Palit is a young Liberation War researcher and author. He has achieved his PhD on Cultural Movement in Bangladesh (1969-1990). He also achieved his MPhil on War Criminals Trail Movement in Bangladesh (1971-2012). His research area focuses on Cultural Movement, History of Liberation War, Genocide and War Criminals Trial movement. The number of his published books are 8. Besides, articles on Bangabandhu, liberation war and genocide been published in various journals.

Currently, he is serving as the Joint-Secretary of 'Bangladesh Itihas Sammilani' and the Publication Secretary of the central committee of ‘Ekatturer Ghatok Dalal Nirmul Committee’.

By profession, he is working as an Assistant Professor in the History Department of Jagannath University, Bangladesh. Dr. Palit received the National Professor Salauddin Ahmed Award in 2017.
