Message from the Chairman

Welcome to the Department of Management Studies

I feel proud to work from the beginning of Jagannath University in the department of Management Studies. I am working as a teacher in this department from 20th October-2005, which was the first day of Jagannath University. I am lucky for getting opportunity to contribute myself a little bit in the development of this department. This department focuses on qualitative and competent learning, skill and ability to fit with globally along with cultural, sports and other extra curricula activities.

The department has BBA undergraduate program, MBA and MBA (Professional) post-graduate program, M.Phil and PhD program. It has sufficient area with modern facilitated class rooms, enriched seminar library, computer lab, conference room, office room, sufficient teacher rooms, open space reading accommodation, internet facilities, Wi-Fi services, multimedia projectors, sophisticated separate male-female teacher and student washroom and CCTV monitoring system.

The Department of Management Studies is enriched with highly qualified full-time 23 faculty members among them 07 Professor, 05 Associate Professor, 11 Assistant Professor. Faculty members have M.Phil, PhD degree from home and abroad like USA, UK, Australia, China, India etc. they are good researcher and research fellow, too much cordial to teaching and research. Faculty members give maximum effort to making competent and dynamic future managers and leaders in corporate level, business and government & non-government organizations for facing MDG and SDG’s global challenges.

About Department of Management Studies

The Department of Management of Jagannath University is a pioneer in the business education of Bangladesh. It is committed to providing the highest educational standard to cope with the growing business environment. The department offer Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs in keeping with the trend of greater appeal and acceptability in the job market as per the academic rules and regulations of the university.

A large number of qualified faculty members (including Ph.D., M.Phil., and foreign degree holders) rendering their services with a reputation in the department, all of who are committed to educating new generations on the base of contemporary development of management studies and research. It should be noted that some of the renowned authors of many distinguished textbooks for management studies are part of the Department of Management studies.

There are about 1500 (fifteen hundred) students enrolled in the department. Among them, 900 students continuing in the BBA Programs, and the rest of the students are in the MBA regular and MBA(evening) Programs.

The department is enriched with a seminar library containing about 5000 books available for the students. Sufficient space, an attractive seminar library, an eye-catching structural view, multimedia classroom, and other facilities are available in this department. There are adequate computers and the latest IT facilities for improved teaching techniques to provide updated knowledge to the students. The department has been established a standard computer laboratory for the students to gather knowledge on the Internet and any other IT infrastructure services.
