Message from the Dean
Welcome to the Faculty of Social Science
I feel honored to take charge as the dean of this faculty. Over time and with the changes in the world, social behavior and other parts of society have been changing so the necessity for social scientists' research is greater than ever. Global responses based on research are necessary for problems like poverty, cyber-crime, environmental change, economic and political unrest, inequality, migration, and social development. We offer an extensive body of knowledge and serve as an inspiration for unique approaches to these problems.
The faculty of Social Science is 4th in order and one of the largest faculties in the university. This faculty consists of eight diverse and renowned departments. They are the Department of Anthropology, Economics, Film and Television, Mass Communication and Journalism, Political Science, Public Administration, Social Work, and Sociology. These departments have been trying to produce and disseminate knowledge through conducting research, arranging national and international seminars and conferences, and other academic initiatives.
The faculty is enriched by several young, enthusiastic, and scholarly faculty members who have been trying to make it a center of excellence and connect it with communities and the wider world. At present more than one hundred thirty faculty members are working in different departments under this faculty, among them several faculty members are in other universities in the world to pursue higher education. The FSS continues a solid relationship with the social community and national and international NGOs. Furthermore, alumni, established in their sphere, and scholars in the relevant field are invited regularly to give talks to the students of this faculty. With all the initiatives, the faculty has been trying to make all the departments under it a center of brilliance and also make a bridge between industries and academia.
