About Faculty of Fine Arts
The faculty of Fine Arts at Jagannath University embarked on its academic journey as the Department of Fine Arts on December 2,2013, introducing disciplines like Drawing and Painting, Print Making and Sculpture. Among the founding faculty members were Professor MD. Aloptogin, Professor Dr.Bazlur Rashid Khan, Assistant Professor Imam Hossain, and Assistant Professor Razaul Sadat. Initially chaired by Dr. Hosneara Begum from the Bangla Department for a month, Professor MD Aloptogin later assumed the role, becoming the first chairman from the Department of Fine Arts and Graphics. Over time, additional faculty members like Assistant Professor Maruf Adnan, MD. Mainuddin, Jahidul Haque, Najmun Nahar, along with Lecturers Subash Paul and Rasel Rana, have enriched the academic environment with their expertise.
On January 11, 2024, a significant transformation occurred as the Fine Art Department expanded and transitioned into the distinguished Faculty of Fine Arts at Jagannath University. This milestone marked an important moment in the institution's academic growth,now offering three departments: Drawing and Painting, Print Making, and Sculpture. Professor MD. Aloptogin becoming the first dean of the faculty.
