Biography of Shayer Mahmood Ibney Alam

 

I am a conservation cum evolutionary biologist experienced with teaching, research, project assistance and management in the field of Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation with focus on their ecology and conservation. I have special interests in human-modified ecosystems (i.e. impact of development on wildlife) and conservation communication.

I am, at present, a PhD candidate at the Centre for Conservation Ecology and Genomics under the Institute for Applied Ecology (IAE) of University of Canberra, Australia. My research focuses on the sex chromosome evolution and sex determination mechanisms in reptiles (Agamid/Dragon lizards) on evolutionary (cytogenetical & genomical) and ecological perspectives.
