Biography of Lubna Jebin

I am working as Associate Professor in the department of Public Administration. As a faculty, I have been involved in lecturing, curriculum development and thesis supervision of BSS and MSS students. I have completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Public Administration from University of Dhaka respectively in 2009 and 2011. I have done my second MA degree in 2016 from University of Reading majoring in Public Policy, with a special focus on Critical Social Policy. Currently I am at the last stage of my PhD, focusing on Bangladeshi women domestic workers' experiences in Saudi Arabia. My research critically examines Bangladeshi women's experiences with an emphasis on gendered labour of women within multiple layers of patriarchal constraints and thus brings to the fore how women exercise their agency. My research interest is focused in two key areas: gendered labour and gendered violence in the context of the Global South.
