Biography of Dr. Mallik Akram Hossain

I obtained Masters and Bachelor degrees from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh with concentration in geography and environment. I started teaching at the University of Rajshahi as a lecturer in 1997. I obtained a Dutch grant to pursue another Masters in urban environmental management at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT,), Thailand in 2002. I had my PhD from the University of Hong Kong with the university scholarship in 2007. My research interests include urban environmental management, urban sanitaiton, water goveranance, climate change, renewbale energy and international migration. I spoke at a number of international workshops and conferences. My research articles have appeared in various refereed journals.
