Biography of Md. Ekramul Karim

Md. Ekramul Karim is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Life and Earth Sciences, Jagannath University (JnU), Dhaka, Bangadesh. He obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Microbiology from the University of Chittagong (https://cu.ac.bd/), Bangladesh in 2013 and 2014, respectively. He has been working as a faculty at the Department of Microbiology, JnU since September 2018. Before joining JnU, he worked as Scientific Officer at Environmental Biotechnology Division of the National Institute of Biotechnology (http://www.nib.gov.bd/), Bangladesh (Specialized biotechnology-based research organization under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Bangladesh), and also as a Microbiologist at NIPRO-JMI Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (https://www.niprojmipharma.com/). He has received several research grants from JnU, and Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Bangladesh, and also published several scientific articles with reputed national and international publishers.

Md. Ekramul Karim is always fascinated by the colorful world of the microorganisms which known to influence the universe from the earth to ocean to sky. He is interested in deciphering the basic and applied aspects of microorganisms that are regulating the biological world, and applying these knowledge for the welfare of the society with respect to  health, environment, and agriculture.
