A brief introduction:

Md. Anwar Hossain was born in 1972 in an aristocrat Muslim family in a village named Charkadah under Natore district in Northern Bangladesh. Dr. Hossain passed Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations with First Division under Rajshahi Board in 1988 and 1990 respectively. He obtained the degree of Bachelor of Social Science (honors) in Social Welfare with Second Class and Master of Social Science in Social Welfare with First Class from the University of Dhaka in 1993 (exam. held in 1995) and 1994 (exam. held in 1997) respectively. He obtained MPhil degree in Public Administration from Bergen University, Norway in 2008 and PhD in Social Welfare from the University of Dhaka in 2015. He started his professional career as Lecturer in Social Work, University of Rajshahi in 1998 and got promotion as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in 2001 and 2009 respectively. He joined as Associate Professor at the Department of Social Work, Jagannath University, Dhaka in 2012 and has got promotion as Professor in 2015. A substantial number of research articles of Dr. Hossain have been published in national and international referred journals. He has participated and presented a number of papers in national and international conference. His research interest lies in community participation, women empowerment, social development and disaster management. Travelling is one of the hobbies of Dr. Hossain and he has visited Hong Kong, Norway, UK, France, India and KSA.
