I am a self-driven, committed, and experienced research scientist with extensive knowledge and laboratory skills in molecular biology, plant ecology, and agriculture. My research focuses on the application of various molecular techniques such as genomics, transcriptomics, plant breeding, and biotechnology in agricultural crops for the diversification of food crops to deliver improved food products. I also aim to solve intricate ecological questions such as species diagnosis, conservation and assessment of biodiversity etc. using molecular tools to understand the relationship between plants and abiotic factors (e.g. soil, water) and vegetation survey in a diverse set of terrestrial, aquatic, and coastal habitats for conservation point of view.

My passion for agriculture has inspired me to obtain a PhD in Agriculture  (2023) under Professor Robert Henry's guidance at the esteemed Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation (QAAFI), a top agricultural research institute at the University of Queensland, on a full-time RTP scholarship. To better understand the metabolic and regulatory mechanisms of Australian wild rice, my PhD study relies on high-throughput sequencing technologies to analyze the genome and transcriptome variation in these wild rice. I previously received funding from a VLIR-UOS grant to complete a Master of Science in Biology at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium (2013). My master’s thesis focuses on the conservation genetics of mangrove plants using molecular markers. Earlier I completed a Bachelor of Science in Botany from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

I have acquired excellent organizational, administrative, and research-related skills with experience in collaborating with diverse individuals as well as strong research professional with outstanding written and oral communication skills.

I have co-supervised Master’s thesis project entitled “Distribution of intertidal benthic diatom and their relationship with environmental variables in Sonadia Island, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh” (2018)
