Professional Exprience of Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim

Synopsis of Teaching Experience: I started my teaching as a Lecturer in Chittagong University in May 1995 just after the obtaining of my M.Sc. degree in 1994 from Dhaka University. I taught many courses in Chittagong Universities Beside this I taught several courses in Private Universities like Independent University Bangladesh(Chittagong Campus), Premier University and BGC Trust University. On the other hand I taught several mathematical courses like Complex Analysis, Differential Equations, Numerical Analysis, Linear Algebra etc. in Windsor University, Canada while I was pursuing my degree there. I have been teaching many core courses of Applied and Pure Mathematics for the last 26 years. The courses include Fluid Dynamics, Numerical Analysis, Operations Research, Mathematical Modeling in Biology, Differential Equation, Advanced Calculus, Real Analysis, Complex Analysis, Linear Algebra, Basic Algebra, Set Theory, Mechanics (Statics and Dynamics), Vector Analysis, Basic Statistics etc.

Service Experience:

From October 08, 2013 to till date, Professor, Department of Mathematics, Jagannath University, Dhaka – 1100, Bangladesh.

Main Responsibilities: Course taught- Advanced Partial Differential Equation, Advanced Operations Research, Operations Research, Fluid Dynamics, Numerical Analysis, Linear Programming, Mathematical Modeling in Biology, Ordinary Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III etc. Besides this a lot of PhD, M.Phil, M.Sc and B.Sc (honors) project student supervised. Reviewed many research papers for different local and international journals.

From March 20, 2015 to March 19, 2018, Chairman, Department of Mathematics, Jagannath University, Dhaka-1100, Bangladesh

Main Responsibilities: Official duties like an administrator to smooth run the department and University as well. From 18 October’2005 to June 30, 2010 Associate Professor in Mathematics, Department of Accounting and Information Systems, University of Chittagong, Chittagong, Bangladesh.

Main Responsibilities: Course taught- Quantitative Business Analysis, Operations Research, Financial Mathematics, Linear Algebra, Calculus, Business Mathematics etc. Besides this a lot of MBA and BBA (honors) project student supervised. Reviewed many research papers for different local and international journals.

From October’ 2002 to 17 October’ 2005, Assistant Professor in Mathematics, Department of Accounting and Information Systems, University of Chittagong, Chittagong, Bangladesh.

From 8 January’ 2001 to October 2002, I was in study leave. At that time I was a graduate student in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, University Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Main Responsibilities: Perused my M.Sc degree with thesis and course work. While I was pursuing my M. Sc degree in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics I was a Teaching and Research Assistant for the same time in the University of Windsor as well. As part of my Teaching Assistantship I conducted classes, examination, quiz and marked all kinds of scripts in undergraduate level students in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

From 23 May’ 1998 to 7 January’ 2001, Assistant Professor in Mathematics, Department of Accounting, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh.

From 18 May’1995 to 22 May’ 1998, Lecturer in Mathematics, Department of Accounting, University of Chittagong, Chittagong, Bangladesh
