My current research interest is to find out why pre-school children in the coastal areas in Bangladesh are experiencing increased episodes of enteric disease since the last two decades. I approach the problem from two angles: change in microorganisms in the environment due to climate change and change in the mucosal immunity of children exposed to climate change. Application of metagenomics is a pre-requisite to uncover microbial community composition and host-microbe interaction dynamics.
