Biography of Dr. Moynul Hasan
Short Biography
Dr. Moynul Hasan was born in Munshiganj Sadar under Munshiganj district on 2nd February 1985. He obtained his Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) and Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm.) degree from Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He joined in the Department of Pharmacy, Jagannath University in October, 2015 as a Lecturer. He successfully completed Ph.D. degree under Japanese Government MEXT (Monbukagakusho) scholarship from Shizuoka University, Japan in 2018 under the supervision of Professor Masahito Yamazaki. His doctoral study mainly focused on the biophysical characterization of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs)-lipid membrane interactions at a molecular level. Mentionably, He revealed the mechanism of initial stage of pore formation in lipid membrane by antimicrobial peptide magainin 2. Moreover, he established a new approach to prepare asymmetric model membrane and developed a novel method to estimate the transbilayer movement (flip-flop) of lipids in lipid membrane. He was promoted to Asistant Professor in the same Department in December 2019.
